Summary

Allevity Employer Solutions is in search of an Accounting Assistant to join our organization. As the Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while supporting the Finance Team. This position includes processing accounts payable and receivable in addition to assisting with the monthly close process, ACH processing and financial reporting. This is a full-time position with a starting pay $20.50 hour and generous benefits including employer-paid health benefits, 401(k), 2 weeks paid vacation, and more. Accounting Assistant
Job Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Location: Chico, CA (onsite position)
Starting Pay: $20.50/hr.
Reports To: Financial Controller

What you’ll do

  • Process Accounts Payable: index vendor invoices in document management system and coordinate approvals, code and post vendor invoices and process weekly vendor checks, maintain vendor account information and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Process Account Receivable: record check deposits and wire payments to client accounts, follow up with clients regarding unpaid invoices
  • Assist with Monthly Close Process: code and post bank transactions and account transfers, analyze credit card receipts and prepare credit card journal, prepare overhead allocation journals
  • Banking / ACH Processing: process daily ACH files for employee direct deposits and client invoices, respond to payroll requests for verification of transactions clearing the bank
  • Reporting: prepare escheatment reporting, assist with collating documentation for annual external audits, contribute to other departmental projects / reporting as required


 

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience and knowledge of AR/AP fundamentals
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong technical skills – adaptable to new software and systems
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude
  • Ability to maintain strictest confidentiality


Preferred Skills

  • Payroll experience


Work Hours:  Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
