We are actively seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join the team of a successful General Contractor known for its commitment to excellence and high-quality construction services, particularly in earthwork and underground projects. Our client’s projects include both public and private sector contracts in multiple industries. As a Project Engineer, you will assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing documentation and ensuring smooth project execution from procurement to completion. If you are looking for an opportunity to work with a great team, have construction operations experience, and possess a degree in a relevant discipline, we want to meet you!  Your candidacy will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.

Basic Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Construction Management (or equivalent industry), Civil Engineering,
  • Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in construction operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, subcontract coordination, and general project administration
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels:  subcontractors, superintendents, project managers, stakeholders/owners
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
  • Valid drivers license and proof of insurability

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

  • Successful subcontractor relationship and management experience
  • Contracts experience – an understanding of different contracts and capable of substantiating charges, managing documentation associated with payouts, etc.
  • Knowledge of required permits – experienced in permit filing, monitoring, and management
  • Materials ordering
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills – capable of responding to and resolving issues and questions that arise
  • Comfortable discussing finances and conveying information between subcontractors and owners regarding change orders, options that may impact either party
  • Underground utilities experience

  • Contingent upon criminal background check

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years recent clerical experience
  • Experience with Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Experience with online shipping software (preferred)


Work Location:  Chico, CA (onsite only)

 

Work Hours:  Mon-Fri 8:00 to 5:00pm
